Today we come to you with a request: Show your gratitude for homeopathy to the U.S. government. Tell the FDA that you want and NEED open access to homeopathic remedies! Share your stories of success, how safe and non-toxic it is. How you use it for your families and as a go-to medicine.
WHY?
We’re worried about the future of availability of homeopathic medicines in the United States. The FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) has recently canceled its current guidelines for marketing and manufacturing homeopathic drugs—the ones it has used for the past 30 years for the manufacturing of homeopathic medicines. It also issued new draft guidelines that have already been applied. According to one of the largest manufacturers of homeopathic remedies and according to many homeopathic pharmacists, these new guidelines could spell the end of homeopathy in the United States as we know it.
HOMEOPATHIC MEDICINES ARE SAFE
Homeopathic medicines have had an exceptional record of safety: There have been zero deaths or disabilities associated with homeopathic drugs, according to independent investigations. By comparison, EVERY YEAR in the United States alone, according to published studies, there are at least 760,000 deaths and more than 2 million cases disabilities from conventional medical drugs (Null et al. 2011).
NEW FDA DRAFT GUIDELINES
Nevertheless, the FDA has proposed, in its recent draft guidelines, to require every homeopathic medicine to be approved as a new drug. This unnecessary and draconian measure would likely dramatically raise the prices for homeopathic medicines. Plus, it may completely prevent access for Americans to these remarkably safe and effective natural medicines – especially medicines such as Belladonna, Nux vomica and Rhus toxicodendron – common, household names for all homeopathic users. The new FDA guidelines could spell the death of homeopathic manufacturing in the United States.
THERE IS HOPE, PLEASE COMMENT
We have hope, however. The FDA has a public comment page. Maybe many of you feel strongly about this and are willing to tell your government about how you feel. Perhaps the FDA will change its draft guidelines to more reasonable ones, more like it has in the past. We ask you to contact the FDA now and tell the agency you NEED AND WANT homeopathic drugs to be available to you. Please include in your request how they can do this. It is very simple: Tell them (a) you would like them to interpret the law as it is more appropriate for the safer, highly diluted homeopathic medicines; (b) that you would like them to extend the public comment period.
The present deadline is January 23rd.
