Homeopathy is a medical treatment and pharmaceutical science that pre-dates conventional treatment by at least a hundred years. The German physician and medical genius Dr. Samuel Hahnemann developed homeopathy in the late eighteenth century through the mid-nineteeth century. Homeopathic medicine has been practiced and developed further since, and today homeopathy enjoys great popularity worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes homeopathy as the second most widely practiced system of medicine in the world!
FAQ About Homeopathy
What is Homeopathy, A Conversation
Homeopathy works with nature rather than against it. It uses the disease symptoms to its benefit rather than fighting them or trying to palliate them. Disease is an expression of the body’s natural healing capacity. Homeopathic medicines support the body’s natural self-healing impulse in order to overcome the illness and, consequently, restore itself back to health.
Homeopathy is about curing diseases, not merely about getting rid of symptoms. When you take an aspirin you may alleviate the symptoms, but you do not address the cause of the trouble. Most modern drugs work by merely suppressing or covering up the symptoms. That is why, for example, they have names with the prefix “anti-”, which means “against”- like antihistamines, antidepressants, antispasmodics, antibiotics, anticoagulants, etc.
The body produces symptoms to overcome a threat or imbalance, and to restore health. For example, a runny nose is the natural way to get rid of foreign material, like viral particles. Pain temporarily immobilizes a part to allow healing, such as in a fracture or other injury. Or, the body creates high blood pressure to counter a circulation problem. Or by coughing or sneezing you rid the body of dust, etc.
When you treat by shutting these symptoms down, you work against the body’s self-restorative efforts. It is counterproductive and slows the recovery. There is a better way: help the body in its efforts to get well. Homeopathy boosts the body’s ability to heal itself.
Yes, sometimes, symptoms need to be counteracted. For example, during surgery pain control is necessary. However, after surgery, most if not all of the pain can be managed with homeopathic remedies! Just ask our clients who’ve recovered from knee replacements or c-sections with no medications other than their homeopathic ones.
Extreme hypertension could cause kidney damage if the high blood pressure continues unchecked. If a certain hormones cease to produce, such as the thyroid hormones or insulin from the pancreas, supplementation may be necessary.
Suppression of symptoms may be necessary on occasion. But wherever possible, it is better to relieve the discomfort by treating the underlying trouble without countering the body’s self-healing tendencies, rather than suppress the restorative mechanisms. This process can be done with homeopathic treatment, using careful assessment in each individual case.
Suppressing symptoms with medication can be harmful. For example, several studies found that HRT (hormone replacement therapy) prescribed to suppress menopausal symptoms causes hypertension, stroke and certain cancers. Statin drugs used for high cholesterol can cause liver damage. The fluroquinolone antibiotic group including ciprofloxacin (Cipro), gemifloxacin (Factive), levofloxacin (Levaquin), moxifloxacin (Avelox), norfloxacin (Noroxin), and ofloxacin (Floxin), can cause painful, contracted & rupturing tendons, peripheral neuropathy with tingling & burning pains, brain fog, anxiety, etc.
Blood pressure medications, such as Beta Blockers and Calcium Channel Blockers show a higher incidence of stroke and heart attacks. Numerous anti-acne drugs can cause mental illness. Antidepressants (SSRI’s and others) can increase suicidal and even homicidal ideation, cause gynecomastia, weight gain, lack of creativity, sexual dysfunction and more.
The problem is, drugs can cause conditions that are far more harmful when compared to the ones they were treating! And all too often the outcome of suppressive treatment is fatal. So far, there is no homeopathic remedy for death!
According to one study, 250,000 Americans die every year from adverse drug reactions alone. However harm can also be caused indirectly. For example, suppressing symptoms can hide the real problem. Suppose you have partially blocked arteries, and your body produces high blood pressure to compensate for it. Then you lower (suppress) the blood pressure with medication.
You can see how this could increase the risk of heart attack or ischemic stroke. The reduced pressure can increase the blockage in the heart or brain arteries and cause stagnation of blood flow, resulting in thrombotic stroke, or cause a heart attack. In suppressing symptoms you almost always make a problem worse over the long run.
And one more thing. According to a study done by Gary Null, et al, in 2011, more Americans are dying each year from properly prescribed medical treatment than from heart attacks or even cancer. Now THAT’S something to make you stop and think.
No, nothing has changed with the condition. And the symptoms you suppress come back after you withdraw the medication. This shows you have not cured the illness. That is the case in most conventional treatment of chronic illnesses. That is why so many people have to take medication for the rest of their lives. Look at all the people on blood pressure medicine or diabetes medicine. But their diseases are never cured.
Yes. Based on our experience, homeopathic treatment often cures high blood pressure within a year. It often cures diabetes and many other chronic diseases, like depression, heart disease, mental illness, and even cancer. We’ve even had success in treating serious conditions such as nephrotic syndrome, multiple sclerosis(MS), Parkinson’s and more. You can find stories of success in healing from our articles in our blog and from testimonials from our clients.
All drugs have effects; in fact, a substance is called a drug if it has biological effects. Drugs have more effects than just the one it’s being prescribed for. These are marginalized and called “side effects”!
Homeopathy works by the method of similarity. The homeopathic practitioner selects a medicine, whose effects resemble the client’s disorder. To cure high blood pressure, homeopathy uses a drug that causes hypertension when given in large doses (like 500mg), but will cause a curative response in a small dose, such as a potentized 30C or 1Q remedy.
Each medicine has been tested on healthy people and causes its own unique set of symptoms when given to a healthy person. These symptoms have been carefully recorded and are used to prescribe based on your unique symptoms.
Not if the substance is given in a small enough dose.
Let’s look at the medicine Digitalis purpurea, commonly known as Foxglove
All drugs have a bi-phasal (dual) action. In large doses, they inhibit or stop biological functions. In minute doses, they stimulate or encourage an opposite function. This action was known nearly 200 years ago. Suppose you had symptoms of heart failure with a very slow, irregular heartbeat that seems to stop whenever you move, with swelling of the legs, and other characteristic symptoms. You could benefit from a highly diluted dose of foxglove, or Digitalis. That drug, when tested on healthy people in large doses, caused a SLOW HEARTBEAT that is worse from any movement. This is why it is given in regular medicine for A-fib (atrial fibrillation) to slow down the heartbeat – in a high dose! If given in a highly diluted dose (small, minute) over a period of time, the body gradually and gently overcomes heart failure. In this case, serious heart disease may sometimes be reversed.
Homeopaths work with a huge database called a materia medica. It is a record of the exact symptoms that have been evoked during controlled experiments with thousands of medicinal substances—substances, which in a diluted form, can then be used to treat and cure a vast array of disorders.
As with all disease entities, not all patients with diabetes have the same symptoms. Some patients are obese, some lose weight. Some crave sweets, some crave starchy foods. Some are very thirsty, some have no thirst. Some are chronically too warm, others too chilly. When the similarity between a given case of diabetes and the drug is great, that medicine is likely to restore health.
The homeopathic practitioners selects a substance that best fits the characteristics and symptoms of each individual patient. That remedy, in turn, kicks in the self repair mechanisms. Over time, with the additional help of dietary changes (your current diet can be acting like an “obstacle to cure) and sometimes supplementation (deficiencies can also be an obstacle to cure!), diabetes can be cured.
During the consultation, the homeopaths questions and observes the client thoroughly to assess their specific characteristics. The homeopath tailors the remedy to each individual case of illness and to the person’s unique symptoms, not just according to a disease name or diagnosis.
That is a good question. This can only be answered by showing you the evidence. TV and major media outlets are cooperating in either a complete media blackout on homeopathy or a complete smear campaign. There are guys such as “the magician” James Randi who appear as “experts” on TV or over the internet claiming homeopathy is a fraud.
Actually, homeopathy is based on good science. The real fraud is the pretense by these debunkers that “they are experts.” Why a magician should be an expert on anything relating to medical science defies common sense. Guys like that never disclose that they work for Big Pharma and are not researchers nor scientists qualified to make any assessment on the matter.
Another character who has been attacking homeopathy on a website is “Dr.” Stephen Barrett. Stephen Barrett has apparently not held an MD license in years and has been called “unworthy of credibility” by at least one US Court. A lawsuit by chiropractors against the America Medical Association has revealed that characters such as these are supported by a covert (covert because it takes a lot of digging to find this information) multi-million dollar Big Pharma operation that was once referred to by the industry as the “anti-quackery campaign.” This campaign apparently libels homeopathy openly with full support of the mainstream media.
For the past hundred years the medical, pharmaceutical and insurance industries have gained increasing influence over the news media and what type of medicine is available* to the public. They have managed to keep factual, proven information about homeopathy from the general public. There are plenty of commercials and advertising for drugs to treat X, Y or Z condition, showcasing the horrible side effects that are often times worse and more life threatening than the condition they purport to treat!
Even today, after homeopathy has become more known, there are virtually no fair articles or TV programs that educate people about the benefits, safety and efficacy of homeopathy. After all, “they” may claim that homeopathy is “placebo”, but they haven’t once proven that homeopathy isn’t safe! Even the recent claims of babies having seizures from the Belladonna in their teething tablets is questionable at best and the stories are full of holes.
Unfortunately, what articles do appear in the media are mostly cheap attempts to ridicule and discredit homeopathy and homeopathic practitioners, even by the most respectable sources, without citing facts, or worse, misrepresenting the facts.
Some feel the Big Pharma campaigns smear and belittle homeopathy because, if it ever became more widely known, widespread education and use of homeopathy would ruin the drug industry’s profits because too many patients would abandon these harmful and ineffective drugs in favor of safe and effective homeopathic treatment.

Most of the TV and newspaper revenue comes from advertisements by the pharmaceutical industry. I’m sure you’ve noticed in TV commercials and in popular magazines the large number of drug ads…The industry tolerates no competition from homeopathy. Even mainstream talk shows routinely screen out callers who want to report about their successful homeopathic or other alternative treatment. Our clients have reported this time and again – they would call into a program to report their story, and the host would not take their call or would cut them off before they finished if they managed to get “on the air.”
It is a question of profit. By nature, homeopathy is not a very profitable profession. Homeopaths work themselves out of the job. This is because homeopathy cures in most cases. This means homeopaths do not rely in permanent patients who keep coming back and stay on expensive medication for the rest of their lives. Homeopathy restores their health and they may never need treatment again. Homeopaths charge for their time, and when the patient is cured the income stops.
Homeopaths simply cannot afford the cost associated with advertising campaigns. As a result, homeopaths simply don’t have the kind of funds needed to advertise on TV. We don’t have an ad council funded by someone with deep pockets like Big Pharma paying for advertising! Homeopathic pharmacies aren’t getting rich either. Homeopathic remedies are very inexpensive to manufacture. Additionally, pharmacists sell fewer medicines if patients don’t need treatment for the rest of their lives.
No. The insurance business has no incentive to reduce health care costs. The entire health insurance business is based on predictable risk of catastrophic treatment costs. If there is no risk of expense, then no insurance is needed. The higher the expense, the higher the risk, the more coverage is needed, the more business, the better the profits for the insurer.
Would you pay out hundreds of dollars a month for insurance if you could afford the treatment? Most people pay less to a homeopath during the few months to several years they need treatment than it costs to have health insurance for that time! It is the fear of catastrophic expense that keeps the health insurance companies in business. Conventional treatment, like surgeries and organ transplants, are expensive.
In most cases surgery could be prevented with homeopathic treatment. For example, most coronary artery disease could by prevented and treated with homeopathic treatment. This was shown already in the 1950s by the famous homeopathic surgeon Dr. Alonzo Shadman in this book Who is Your Doctor and Why.
Many advanced cases of arthritis, heart disease, cancer and many other chronic disorders can be reversed by homeopathic treatment without resorting to dangerous surgeries, radiation or drug therapy.
Yes. While this is very disconcerting news to patients, it is a very lucrative business for the pharmaceutical industry and the doctors. You can refer to any Physicians Desk Reference for the adverse effects of drugs or visit sites like www.rxlist.com , www.drugs.com for more information. You may also want to visit internet forums and blogs for even more specific drug symptoms and testimonials of personal suffering.
Every drug produces a disorder (in other words, it gives you side effects!) in every patient if taken long enough. These drug disorders do not necessarily disappear when the drug is discontinued.
Part of what we do in our practice is called The Mueller Method™ of homeopathy. This method allows us to antidote the long term effects of drugs, vaccines, surgeries and/or environmental toxins, etc, that may have injured you. It can help undo complicated chronic disorders, suppressions (like from long term asthma treatment, antibiotics, cortisone/prednisone, pain medications, anesthetics, anti-hypertensive drugs, etc). We use it to add the predisposition to cancer, a common state of health found in people who have a family history of cancer or other predisposing causes. The Mueller Method™ also contains a gentle oral chelation protocol that we use to chelate (remove) mercury and other heavy metals from the body. Learn more about The Mueller Method™ here.
Yes, it is very safe when conducted in consultation with trained practitioners. Millions of patients enjoy homeopathic care around the world, yet there is not a single documented case of death or injury resulting from homeopathic treatment. There are none. If you search the databases of Poison Control Centers you will not find a single case of sickness or death from poisoning by homeopathic medicines. Conventional drug treatment, on the other hand, causes more than 250,000 deaths annually in the United States alone. And conventional drugs seriously injure an estimated 2.1 million every year in US alone.
Homeopathy is widely accepted in Europe. The British Royal Family has enjoyed homeopathic treatment since the early nineteenth century. In Germany you will find a homeopathic pharmacy in every small town. But even there, after World War II, the international pharmaceutical industry did their best to marginalize and even eradicate homeopathy. The government of India endorses homeopathy. Homeopathy was once very popular in the United States. At the beginning of the twentieth century we had more than twenty homeopathic colleges and more than a hundred homeopathic hospitals in this country.
The banking and pharmaceutical interests that controlled a vast number of private trusts and public corporations decided to get into the pharmaceutical business. With the invention of synthetic drugs — mostly derived from petroleum — they knew they had a way to change medicine into a profitable enterprise. They were building a monopoly – total control over the drug business, as they had already taken over the oil business and the banking business.
In 1910, with the help of the Carnegie Foundation these interests generated the “Flexner Report” (For more on this report click here and here). This report on medical education was very critical of (meaning, “biased against”) homeopathic colleges and any university teaching a form of medicine that would not require synthetic drugs. As a result, funding was withdrawn from these colleges, causing most of them to close.
