Homeopaths Manfred Mueller and Julie Insley lecturing at UNC Medical School Oct 2015
On Monday, October 26, 2015, we were back in North Carolina! Mr. Mueller once again presented on homeopathy to the medical and health sciences students at the University of North Carolina Medical School’s Program on Integrative Medicine (PIM). The for-credit course introduces students to twelve different alternative healing modalities, including homeopathy.
The evening began with homeopath Julie Insley’s opening presentation on the fundamentals of homeopathy. Ms. Insley is a graduate of The Homeopathic College (then called The Southeastern College of Homeopathy). Then, Co-Director of PIM Dr. Susan Gaylord followed with a summary of the state of homeopathic research, including some of the most recently published studies.
For many of the students, this was their first exposure to homeopathy. In between presentations, there was lively discussion and Mr. Mueller answered many cogitative questions.
Finally, the highlight of the entire evening was the live testimonials given by one of Ms. Insley’s clients (unrecorded) and two of Mr. Mueller’s clients.
In her introduction of Mr. Mueller, Dr. Gaylord revealed to the class that the first time she had asked Mueller to present was when the class was first offered in 1995, and that she has been asking him to come back every year since! In addition, it was nice to again see Dr. Doug Mann, co-Director of PIM and professor of Neurology, at the event.
