Dear Clients and Friends,
Why do we use Q-potencies in the Mueller MethodTM?
In homeopathy, we use three different potency scales: the centesimal potencies, the decimal potencies, and the Q-potencies (=fifty millesimal potencies, sometimes erroneously called the LM-potencies). They were first published in the sixth edition of the Organon, eight years after Hahnemann’s death.
What is the difference? Q-potencies are better for chronic treatment, and when long-term repetition of a remedy is needed. Centesimal potencies, on the other hand, are more suitable for acute cases. Q-potencies can be repeated for months without adverse side effects so long as standard guidelines of ascending liquid potencies, plussing, and individualization of dose are adhered to. Hahnemann found they are the mildest potencies and more suitable to treat sensitive patients. Q-potencies are preferable to the similar LM-potencies used in the UK, Canada, etc., and they are more difficult to find.
Over my past forty years of practice. I’ve seen that the daily repetition of the Q-potencies accomplish the deepest and longest lasting healing effects in chronic disorders. Hahnemann anticipated that multiple factors would play a role in modern complex disorders. Q-potencies are more suitable to today’s patients and many modern health conditions. They can be alternated when more than one remedy is needed to cover the several different syndromes of a case. Overall, they are the most effective and safest way to treat serious and complex chronic conditions. With this approach, patients can expect gentle, gradual cessation of their symptoms and complete and permanent cure of their chronic disorders. For more information on potency and dose please refer to the respective chapters in my book Extra-Strength Homeopathy.
