A Force to Be Reckoned With

This was excerpted from Mr. Mueller’s President’s message from the American Homeopath, vol 20, 2014. It was his final message, ending his third term as President of the North American Society of Homeopaths from 2005-2014.

It was still quiet on the mountain. The sun was not up yet, and we were moving around the house with the help of night-lights and a very bright LED flashlight. There was no sound until, suddenly, the hooting of an owl.

I was looking out the window. A faint light was now appearing over the black mountains. Several long streaks of what looked like vapor trails from airplanes stretched across the skies. They were just barely visible in the dawning of a new day. I counted nine criss-crossing the whole sky. But unlike vapor trails, or condensation trails, these streaks were lingering, spreading out broadly. By noon they would make for a hazy day, and by tomorrow, it would probably rain again.

Later on, I was sitting at the laptop writing about the scanty use of Naja for the homeopathic treatment of cancer. I was thinking about Grimmer’s gradually coming to the realization that the world around him was changing—from increased nuclear radiation to the indiscriminate use of aluminum gradually seeping into the human organism. Grimmer repeatedly reminded us of the increasing “irritation” to the body by these pervasive poisons.

Later, as I was squeezing fresh, organic orange juice with a hand-cranked juicer, I was still surrounded by silence. We habitually shut off electrical power at night here in this remote cabin. We make a habit every morning keeping it off for as long as possible. Nevertheless, soon the needs of a large family would demand auxiliary power, and the noise would begin.

My wife and I have long opted against the use of cell phones and all wireless technology. We choose to frequently steal-away to this remote location and have managed to keep “smart” technology to a minimum, choosing to live in a “wired” household. For several years we hardly had access to the internet.

I don’t know how many of you realize what a different world Hahnemann lived in when he hand-succussed his remedies, generating a “magnetic-like” healing force by dynamizing mere substance. It would be another hundred years before general electrification would cause leukemia and lymphoma rates to sky-rocket. It would be another half century or more after that before pervasive and ever-present wireless technology soup would blast high-frequency microwave radiation at us from cell towers, satellites, communication antenna and from a growing number of common household devices. I wonder what such a brutal, constant assault does to our vital forces and to the medicinal forces of our remedies.

The sun was casting its first shadows as we were walking the upper road to the cliff. A strong wind had dispersed the “vapor trails” and blue sky allowed a glimpse of distant hills. The white fog had formed a big ocean below us, leaving only the mountain peaks visible like chains of distant islands. A red tailed hawk was circling overhead. The world looked majestic, and everything seemed clear and simple as the vast panoramic view expanded before us.

Despite of the modern technologies and miracle drugs, homeopathy did not die, as widely predicted. On the contrary, it has become a force to be reckoned with. Homeopathic protocols are perfectly adaptable to needs of the 21^st century. Constantine Hering, MD (1800-1880) once quipped that homeopathy has to prevail, because those who would use it would outlive those who don’t!

Homeopathy is not merely a medical treatment. It is a set of principles to live by. Healing is removing the unavoidable adverse consequences of living. Understanding the things that make us sick and avoiding them is one of the first tenets of homeopathy. Also, the healer must be careful to avoid harm to be around to do the healing. And finally—the point of healing is to restore the body for the higher purpose of living.
