Serious Conditions Resolved with Homeopathy

Acute/Emergency Cases

I think it is worth mentioning that in each of these cases, the family had a Homeopathic Emergency Kit at their home (or nearby at a neighbor’s house). As a practitioner working with acute and emergency calls, I find that having a homeopathic kit in each household is a must.

• 10 year old girl, with intense pain that is worse from pressure in right hypochondrium; she is very thirsty, lethargic and irritable. She has had constipation for several days. She had eaten a strange sausage (one she’d never eaten before) at her grandfather’s house, and was at the beach where she had swallowed sea water. She was nauseous and had cramps in her belly. An MD had prescribed suppositories. After several days the situation had gotten more and more serious. Liver enzymes were normal but a test found elevated bilirubin count. Stool was light-colored, patient was lethargic, lightheaded and unable to eat.  The MD diagnosed obstruction of small intestines. The mother now called the homeopath, who had, eight years ago, resolved the case when the girl, at age 2, had molluscum contagiosum. He took the case over the phone, late at night. All symptoms resolved quickly after several doses of Bryonia 30C from her neighbor’s acute remedy kit, and by the next morning the girl was well.

• 32 year old female, wakes at 4 am and leans over crib to pick up her 2 year old to change his diaper. She rapidly develops profuse sweat, burning heat in head and face, dizziness, oppressed breathing and was feeling lightheaded and nauseous as if from trapped gas. Intense dry mouth and thirst. Drinking water and burping help alleviate nausea. She tries to run to the bathroom and passes out, landing on her face and knees. She manages to sit on toilet, has diarrhea with small amount of blood and develops chills. Her husband says she looks deathly pale. Her homeopath realizes the symptoms of internal hemorrhage and remembers that Cinnamonum (common cinnamon) has symptoms similar to this picture. After questioning her, she reveals she consumed French toast and several pieces of cake that day (both containing quantities of cinnamon). Knowing this patient is hypersensitive, Aconite 30C is chosen (it antidotes cinnamon) which, after a few doses, resolves the case completely.

• 40 year old female, history of complaints centered around the reproductive organs, calls crying and nearly hysterical, fearing unnecessary emergency surgery. Two days prior she had lifted her youngest son up suddenly to avoid a “disaster” and noticed discomfort in uterine area. By Friday afternoon, she was in severe pain and, upon self-examination, found the uterus had  prolapsed into vaginal canal. She called her OB-GYN who refused to examine her and instructed her to go for an emergency hysterectomy. She begged to be seen by the nurse-midwife who diagnosed a prolapsed uterus through a pelvic exam. Her homeopath first prescribed Arnica 30C to recover from the shock of impending surgery, followed by Pulsatilla 30C every few hours. On Monday she saw the same nurse-midwife who gave her an ultrasound and a second pelvic exam which revealed no signs of prolapse. The nurse-midwife said she was sure the “prolapse” was a misdiagnosis!
