New Research on Homeopathy
A new research study shows that homeopathic treatment reduces painkiller usage by 50%! The study of 1,151 patients included people suffering from osteoarthritis, rheumatism, fibromyalgia, muscle spasms, tendinitis, rotary cuff syndrome, ankylosing spondylitis, intervertebral disc disorders, neck pain, torticollis, and spinal stenosis. This is good news indeed, considering that painkillers can cause serious side effects. Homeopathic treatment can restore your health and even prevent serious illnesses.
Everyday Homeopathy, Part 2
1. Poison Ivy, Oak or Sumac
Rhus toxicodendron in repeated liquid doses will help with the itching and may prevent spreading. Also wash area of contact with soap and water. Other remedies to consider are Anacardium orientalis, Croton tiglium, Graphites, Sepia or Sulphur. Also you can try a fresh poultice or an alcoholic tincture of jewel weed (Grindelia robusta). If the rash spreads or systemic symptoms develop call for an emergency consultation.
2. Splinters
The two most prominent remedies are Silicea terra or Hepar sulphuris calcareum. Use a low x-potency as they tend to push out foreign objects better.
3. Mosquito Bites and Other Itchy Bites
First consider Apis mellifica or Ledum palustre. You may wish to try Calendula officinalis in tincture form (diluted in water and apply topically). Also consider Caladium seguinum to help with the itchiness.

4. Ticks Bites
The best first remedy is Ledum palustre. Try to observe if it was a DOG tick (right) or a DEER tick that bit you. If you are concerned about unusual symptoms, or concerned of the possibility of Lyme’s Disease or Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and wish to seek homeopathic treatment, please call for an emergency consultation.
5. Spider Bites
For simple spider bites of non-poisonous spiders, the first remedy is Ledum palustre. For itchy bites on unknown origin follow with same regimen as mosquito bites. In North America, Black Widow and Brown Recluse spiders can cause serious reactions. We have recently added 2 more ingredients to our very popular “Hemorrhoid Cream”. Previously, it only contained tinctures of Hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel), Aesculus hippocastanum (horse chestnut) and Arnica montana (Leopard’s bane or Mountain Daisy).
Mountain daisy is well known for its soothing effect on hemorrhoids after childbirth, and those from serious physical exertion. Witch hazel has a long reputation for resolving external hemorrhoids and varicose veins. Horse chestnut cures hemorrhoids in persons with sedentary lifestyles.
We have added tincture of Marigold (Calendula officinalis) as sometimes hemorrhoids can bleed. Marigold has a hemostatic effect (stops bleeding) and is well known for its healing and antiseptic properties. Nitricum acidum 6C (high dilution of nitric acid) can reverse those hemorrhoids that are extremely painful and sensitive to touch.
As always, all of the medicinal ingredients are made from ingredients prepared in accordance with the Homeopathic Pharmacopeia of the United States (HPUS). The cream base is made from organic plant oils and beeswax.
